These photos were taken in Monument Valley, Arizona, in April 2002.

This is Navajo Nation land and has some of the world's most remarkable landscape.

It is characterised by huge vertical columns, buttes and mesas, and is even the 'location' for the 'Road Runner' cartoons.

It has been a popular location for 'western' movies.
